The castle is an official wedding venue and provides space for wedding ceremonies, photo shoots, toast moments, and (until 2026) also dinners. From 2025, ceremonies will take place in the renovated 16th-century wedding hall or, in nice weather, in the atmospheric castle garden.

Good to know: from 2027, Castle Hernen will have a new purpose due to renovations. From that moment on, wedding ceremonies will be possible in the wedding hall or the Donjon for a maximum of 50 people, followed by a festive toast. Dinner at the venue will no longer be possible.

Atmosphere & setting
The day begins with an arrival at the impressive, moated castle. While your guests explore the historical surroundings, you prepare for the ceremony in the wedding hall or the sheltered castle garden.

After saying "I do," you will move to the terrace of the former donjon for a festive toast and cutting of the wedding cake. Until 2026, the day can be extended with an atmospheric dinner in a setting that fully matches your personal style. From 2027, the focus will be on an intimate ceremony and a cozy toast moment, where the historical atmosphere of the castle remains central.

Practical & transparent
Castle Hernen is centrally located in Gelderland, close to the A50. From Nijmegen, Arnhem, and ’s-Hertogenbosch, you can reach the venue in about half an hour's drive. There is plenty of opportunity for guests to easily access the location.
