About the venue
In the center of The Hague, the former city palace Het Spaansche Hof is located. Het Spaansche Hof is a national monument with an impressive appearance and history. Those who visit Het Spaansche Hof on the Westeinde feel the centuries-old history. Right in the city yet surrounded by an oasis of calm. Het Spaansche Hof is the location for a successful event, with 6 stylishly decorated rooms and a spacious inner garden. Host up to 300 guests in this 17th-century city palace.
Het Spaansche Hof is an official wedding venue. You can exchange your vows in one of our romantic salons. And on a nice day? We are happy to create a romantic setting for the ceremony in the intimate inner garden. You can immediately cut the cake on the terrace afterwards and enjoy drinks with all the guests!
The history of this city palace dates back to 1469, when the advisor of Emperor Maximilian built his house here, after which it frequently changed ownership. We owe the royal appearance of Het Spaansche Hof to the Spaniards, who remodeled it in 1677 into the current City Palace. The Spanish Embassy was housed here. When you step inside Het Spaansche Hof, where many of these historical elements have been preserved, you can still feel the history.
