Where once liquid metal was transformed into tangible value, today new ideas are cast into the right shape.
The Gieterij is a distinctive hall in the Muntgebouw. The hall is located on a split-level and offers space for wedding ceremonies with plenty of light.
The name of this hall refers to another place in the building. In the Gieterij, the life of a coin began. Here, the metal was melted and cast into bars. Only then could it be rolled, stamped, and ultimately struck into a real coin in the Muntzaal.” The original function of this space was blanchiment, where the cleaning of the struck coin blanks took place. The Gieterij is located on the first floor.
