About the space
The Rijkszaal, the library on the first floor of the Munthuys, breathes history. The wall paintings show how coins were once minted and these were painted by Ids Wiersma. Between the paintings are silver-colored strips with images of coin machines and coats of arms of cities that once had their own mint, framed with decorative edges of punched rondels. The original interior from 1911 has been exceptionally well preserved here. The hall is excellent for an intimate wedding ceremony.
