About the space
The Wilhelmina room is the gem of the Muntgebouw. Previously, this was the room of the mint master. The space was also used for official receptions of the royal family. For instance, the monarch sometimes visited the Royal Mint to strike a special medal or the very first coin. The first time was Queen Wilhelmina, who struck the first golden dime on June 23, 1911. The small door in the hall hides the washbasin, where Queen Wilhelmina used to wash her hands after checking the coins.
Due to the warm atmosphere in the hall, it is ideally suited for a ceremony, toast & cake, a drink and/or private dining.
