Where the coin presses used to stand and the Dutch coins were minted, the Muntzaal now forms the heart of Munthuys.
The Muntzaal in the Utrecht Mint Building was previously literally the heart of coin production. After the metals were melted in the melting house and rolled to the right thickness in the rolling hall, the metal discs (blanks) ended up in the mint hall. There stood the coin presses with which the Dutch coins were minted.
The hall stands out due to its shed roofs, high ceilings, and the special daylight that they let in. That light is not disturbing, but gives the space an open, bright character. Authentic elements from the original coin production have been preserved and are visibly present. The Muntzaal is suitable for those who really go all out for their wedding. From a ceremony for 400 guests to a party for 600 guests, it can all be done.
