Slot Doddendael: Mediterranean fairytale castle with moat, vineyard, and orchard in Ewijk (near Nijmegen)

Make your wedding a fairytale wedding and marry in a real castle with Italian and French vibes through its own vineyard. Just 8 km from Nijmegen lies the beautiful medieval castle 'Slot Doddendael'. Slot Doddendael is completely hidden from the outside world in the river landscape of Maas and Waal, just 5 minutes by car from the A50 and A73. A stately driveway, bulrushes in the moat, monumental trees on the estate, a fantastic private vineyard and orchard, and the white castle with its outbuildings complete the idyll.

Orchard wedding
In the orchard stands our beautiful outdoor location “Dodden-Binnen-Buiten”. A stretch tent where you can use it all day for a delicious Italian dinner at long tables. There are also plenty of options for a drink or afternoon party. Of course, we always create a nice good weather-bad weather scenario!

Castle
Getting married in the Knight's Hall, having a cozy drink in the Arsenal, dining intimately in the Castle Cellar, and a vibrant party in ’t Spijcker, who wouldn’t enjoy that? With nice weather, you can marry outside under the chestnut tree or in the orchard, and the wedding cake can be cut in the courtyard or in the garden.

At Slot Doddendael, you can accommodate a small group in an intimate space or host a grand wedding celebration for up to 650 people. The staff at Slot Doddendael are happy to assist you in organizing your wedding celebration for the best day ever!

Wine estate Doddendael
Our vineyard is a delightful place for a drink or dinner. Of course, we toast with a bubble from our own estate. It doesn't get more romantic than this!

Overnight stay
Slot Doddendael also has two unique castle rooms and a suite for you to stay overnight after your wedding celebration, party, or just for a lovely weekend away. These beautiful and spacious rooms with authentic beam ceilings are equipped with all amenities. The romantic castle rooms overlook the courtyard, the orchards, and the estate. The two castle rooms have a bathroom with walk-in shower, sink, and toilet, while the suite also has a bath. In the morning, you can enjoy breakfast in the Castle Cellar. A unique experience to end your amazing day!

Een fantastische ervaring met mensen die goed hielpen en met ons mee dachten over bepaalde zaken!

Van eerste bezoek tot de ochtend na de bruiloft was alles super goed geregeld. De mensen van Slot Doddendael hebben ons met heel veel dingen goed kunnen helpen en op de dag zelf is bijna alles vlekkeloos verlopen! We hebben echt een prachtige dag gehad! T weer was sochtends in eens omgeslagen en er werd super snel geschakeld door het personeel, we hebben ons hier geen moment zorgen om hoeven maken.

Geweldige, sfeervolle herfstbruiloft

De mooiste dag was op 31 oktober 2025. Wij zijn getrouwd met 15 graden en een klein zonnetje. Slot Doddendael zorgde voor goede, mooie en sfeervolle faciliteiten. Op de dag was het heel fijn dat we een eigen ruimte hadden voor onze eigen spullen en aankleding. Veel zelf mogen aankleding. Het avond feest was een knaller met heerlijke kleine zakjes chips!

Prachtige dag gehad op het mooie en sfeervolle Slot Doddendael

We zijn afgelopen jaar getrouwd op Slot Doddendael en hebben daar de mooiste dag van ons leven beleefd! De communicatie verliep vanaf het begin enorm goed en snel. Ze werken ook samen met fijne leveranciers! Aan al onze wensen is voldaan! We hadden een prachtige dag qua weer en we kregen meerdere opmerkingen dat het leek alsof we ons op een prachtige plek in Italië bevonden. Echt een aanrader om hier te trouwen!

Een dag om niet zomaar te vergeten..!

Op donderdag 9 oktober 2025 zijn we getrouwd bij Slot Doddendael. Het voortraject verliep soepel en we merkten direct dat ze goed georganiseerd te werk gaan. De offerteomgeving is een prettige tool in de voorbereidingen en op de dag zelf verliep alles soepel. Extra shout-out naar onze partymanager Mitch!! Ook het eten was heerlijk, hier hebben we veel positieve reacties van gehad vanuit onze gasten!
