The West Indian House is an official wedding venue.
This stately building from 1617 is located in the heart of Amsterdam on the lively Haarlemmerstraat. The West Indian House owes its name to the time when the Dutch West India Company had its headquarters there, between 1623 and 1647. In one of the four rooms, the Lords Nineteen decided to build the fort New Amsterdam, which would grow into present-day New York. The statue of the Governor General of this post, Peter Stuyvesant, still adorns the courtyard of the building today.

The West Indian House, with its courtyard and large stylish halls, provides a prestigious environment for a wide variety of events. The courtyard is truly unique; despite the fact that The House is located in the center of Amsterdam, you will experience peace and quiet as soon as you walk through the entrance on Herenmarkt.

The romantic and authentic atmosphere of the building is the ideal setting for celebrating your entire wedding day. From the wedding ceremony and reception to a dance party that goes on until the early hours. We have different rooms for your party for each part of the day.

The West Indian House has its own house caterer: the exclusive full-service caterer 'Matter of TASTE'.

They have everything in place to ensure that you have a great wedding day. This means that your wedding is arranged down to the smallest detail and you can fully enjoy every moment, without worries. In the past 30 years, many couples have preceded you.

Vanaf het moment dat we een stap over de drempel van het West-Indisch Huis hadden gezet wisten we al dat dit het ging worden. Wat een prachtig pand in hartje Amsterdam en dan ook nog met een binnentuin! We werden zeer professioneel rondgeleid, er werd achtergrond informatie gegeven over het pand en daarbij werden ook foto's getoond hoe de 3 verschillende zalen eruit kunnen komen te zien zodat we alvast ideeën op konden doen. In het West-Indisch Huis kan namelijk getrouwd worden, gedineerd en gefeest. Dus de gehele bruiloft op 1 fantastische locatie. Hierna en tot de aanloop naar de bruiloft was alles zeer goed geregeld; duidelijke communicatie en vragen werden snel beantwoord. Dan de dag van de bruiloft: we hebben geen woorden voor de VIP service die we hebben gekregen! Ook van onze gasten horen we niks dan lof! Het team van het West-Indisch Huis is er echt voor de gasten en zorgt ervoor dat niemand iets te kort komt. We kunnen Birgit en Felix niet genoeg danken voor alle goede zorgen."
