About the venue
Duurstede Castle in Wijk bij Duurstede is one of the oldest medieval castles in our country and is a romantic wedding venue.
Your own castle and island
Getting married in your own castle. That is possible at Duurstede Castle. It is one of the oldest castles in the Netherlands and is located on a historic castle island. This island is exclusively available to you on the big day.
Romantic surroundings
The castle has a charming courtyard with a covered terrace that is perfect for cutting the wedding cake or for a relaxed drink or champagne toast. Of course, your vow requires at least an equally inspiring setting. Besides the romantically furnished wedding hall, it is also possible to get married outside!
Various rooms
Inside, the castle also sparks the imagination. Vaulted ceilings, historic fireplaces, and chandeliers create a beautiful backdrop for your dinner, buffet, reception, and/or party. Because the castle has several rooms for both small and large groups, there is always a suitable space for every activity during your wedding day.
Rooms and photo locations
Take, for example, the Bishops' Hall, located on the second floor of the Donjon Tower. Ideal for a spectacular evening party with music. From this hall, you have a beautiful view over the castle island, including the surrounding castle park with trees over one hundred and fifty years old. This historic location with its towers, moat, and drawbridge is perfect for a photo shoot.

Duurstede Castle is situated in a quiet location, far from traffic and noise. The castle is close to Utrecht and is therefore easily accessible for guests from all over the Netherlands.
