About the venue

Your wedding, completely your way. At Het Molenhuis, you have all the freedom to shape the day as it suits you, without fixed schedules or obligations. You only rent the location and the bar from us, and keep control over the rest. Het Molenhuis is a fully recently renovated national monument from 1719 with no less than 124 beds, located by the water and on the Eleven Cities Route, allowing everyone to stay overnight and celebrate the day together without time pressure.

Het Molenhuis offers couples maximum freedom. You determine how the day looks, who you involve, and which concept suits you. Arrange your own catering, food trucks, or dinner, choose your own decor, and make the day as personal as you want. We provide the facilities and a cozy bar; your own wedding planner takes care of the rest.

The location consists of several atmospheric rooms with a warm, authentic, and typically Frisian appearance. They are suitable for both an intimate ceremony and a celebration with more than a hundred guests. Thanks to professional lighting and sound and a fully equipped catering kitchen for your caterer, Het Molenhuis is perfectly set up for weddings that are just a little different.
A big and unique advantage is that everyone can stay overnight. With 124 beds, your wedding becomes a complete gathering without time pressure. No goodbyes on the dance floor and no transportation to arrange: stay together, celebrate longer, and end the day relaxed. The next morning, there is plenty of space to enjoy together.

The location by the water and directly on the Eleven Cities Route, in the middle of the Frisian nature, gives Het Molenhuis extra charm. The characteristic sawmill on the grounds reminds of more than three centuries of history and forms a special backdrop for your day. This combination of history, freedom, and experience makes this location unique.
