Alco and Evelyn saw plenty of opportunities for the location and have not been idle in recent years. "We have renovated and modernized the entire hotel and restaurant step by step. With an eye for detail, the architecture, and history, but with the addition of contemporary comfort and luxury. Original elements, such as the old Gelagkamer and also the oldest part of Carelshaven, have been preserved. And we will be incorporating the former residence, which is still in its original state, into the hotel. This is where the painter Herman van de Worp lived for many years.
